From discovering the oyster to the mad genius who put whipped cream in an aerosol can, the history of rude food is full of pleasant surprises. Serious students of these matters have isolated the following milestones: The invention of the apron: this enabled rude cooks to approach the heat of the stove with new confidence, secure in the knowledge that whatever else was crispy on the outside and pink within, it wouldn't be them, The French Revolution: when the aristocracy tumbled, their private cooks were able to escape from the chateau to open restaurants, Rude Food became available to the general public for the first time. Central heating: hitherto only practical during the warmer months, undressing for dinner became possible throughout the year.
Most of our dinners take place in London or a country house in Shropshire. A large table set with antique silver and glass lit entirely by candles, with polished silver gleaming against a linen table cloth the atmosphere is just right. A Champagne reception and selection of fine wines compliment a four or five course menu to delight your taste buds and set the tone for this stylish evening. We dine by candle light reflected in large Georgian mirrors. Fresh flowers enhance the atmosphere while the food itself is a star performer. Our guests are of course the main attraction as they flirt, touch, tease and dine off each other. In Shropshire most of our guests are able to stay from Saturday evening to Sunday big breakfast.
